Arena Primary Infrastructure Fund

    Fund Overview

    The Arena Primary Infrastructure Fund invests in a diverse range of quality Australian properties and infrastructure assets used in primary production.

    All properties are directly held by the Fund and include ownership of water rights where relevant.

    As the Fund is applying all cash reserves to reduce its borrowings, a withdrawal facility is currently unavailable and distribution payments are on hold.

    Portfolio Overview

    The Fund provides exposure to a geographically diverse portfolio of property and infrastructure assets used in the primary production industry. These assets include:

    • horticultural land, including citrus, table grape, mango and almond orchards;
    • production infrastructure such as packing and distribution facilities;
    • intensive livestock assets such as chicken production sheds; and
    • infrastructure assets such as private irrigation schemes.

    The portfolio is leased on long-term agreements with stable, reputable companies operating their own agribusiness enterprises.  There are no managed investment schemes operating on the Fund’s properties. 

    Strategy of the Fund

    The primary focus for the Fund is to reduce its current level of borrowings. Arena continues to work on a number of restructuring initiatives aimed at reducing the Fund’s gearing levels.

    A review of all properties, their leases and future capital expenditure has recently been conducted. This has resulted in new leases being established for several properties and the proposed sale of three other properties, proceeds from which will be used to reduce debt.
