Charles Macek
Chairman
Charles has extensive experience in the finance industry, including insurance, stockbroking,
investment management and investment banking roles in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Japan.
He has previously held senior positions and directorships in a range of public companies and is presently Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council and also the Sustainable Investment
Research Institute. Other current directorships include Telstra Corporation and Wesfarmers.
Chris Thiris
Chief Executive Officer
Chris was appointed the acting CEO of the Orchard Group on 15 July 2010 following a three year tenure as Orchard’s Financial Director . Chris has over 25 years’ experience in financial roles, designing and implementing financial strategies. Prior to joining the Orchard Group, Chris served as Group Treasurer of Coles Myer Limited. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and the Finance and Treasury Association of Australia. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts (Acc) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
David Spruell
Non-Executive Director
David has over 30 years experience in investment management and financial services both the UK and Australia. He held a number of senior roles at Prudential, including head of Investment Management and chief executive of Prudential’s Investment Dealer group and then six years as CEO of Allianz Asset Management Australia. He is currently chairperson of the Workers Compensation Insurance Fund Investment Board in NSW, a non-executive director of Growthpoint Properties Australia and the Lead Independent Director at Macquarie DDR Management Limited. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. He holds a B.Comm. (Hons) from the University of Birmingham.
Bryce Mitchelson
Chief Investment Officer
Bryce is responsible for the overall management and development of Orchard’s property funds management team to ensure the respective fund strategies are in the best interest of investors. Bryce has more than 20 years experience in listed and unlisted property funds management as well as property investment, development and valuation. Prior to joining Orchard, Bryce worked at Centro Property Group in various roles including Senior Funds Manager and at Heine Management Limited managing their listed and unlisted property funds. Bryce holds a Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Business (Property) and Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment. He currently sits on the Board of the Victorian Professional Board and Australian Property Institute.
Andrew Meakin
Non-Executive Director
Andrew has over 20 years experience in financial services and investment management, having previously held senior roles with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Multiplex Capital. He is currently a non-executive director of Landmark White Limited. Andrew holds several academic qualifications in economics, finance and marketing.
Helen Argiris
Non-Executive Director
Helen has over 20 years of experience in financial services.
She is a partner with PKF Australia (PKF), one of the
world’s largest accounting associations, and specialises
in accounting, taxation, acquisitions and human resources.
Helen has a deep understanding of professional services,
technology, finance, telemarketing, property and construction
industries and has previously held roles with PKF in human
resources and on PKF's East Coast Board.
